Come for the AD/HD answers. Leave knowing things about your brain you didn't even know there were things to know.

Ever wonder why you can remember the lyrics to a song from 2003 but can't remember why you walked into the kitchen?

Your brain is a fascinating place. Sometimes a confusing one. And sometimes, frankly, its management could use a little help.

At Murray Center for Behavioral Wellness, we offer straightforward AD/HD testing for children, teens, and adults. It's not as complicated or time intensive as a full neuropsychological evaluation but provides you the answers you need to understand why you keep walking in a room and forgetting why you're there. While figuring out whether you have AD/HD is an important part of this process, you might be surprised by how much else you can learn from this testing.

What Can AD/HD Testing Tell You?
Think of it as getting a behind-the-scenes look at how your brain works.
Depending on your needs, testing may explore:

  • 🧠 IQ & Intellectual Abilities: How you reason, solve problems, and process information.

  • 🎯 Attention & Concentration: How well you focus, sustain attention, and manage distractions.

  • 📋 Executive Functioning: Your brain's management department, responsible for planning, organizing, managing time, and getting things done. Sometimes management is doing great. Sometimes nobody seems to be in charge.

  • 💭 Working Memory: Your ability to hold information in mind long enough to use it.

  • âš¡ Processing Speed: How efficiently you take in and work with information.

Together with your history and clinical information, these findings help us understand your unique strengths, challenges, and whether AD/HD or something else may be contributing to your difficulties.

How Long Does Testing Take?
Good news. You won't need to pack a suitcase.
The testing appointment for AD/HD typically takes a couple of hours, depending on your age and individual needs.

You'll complete activities involving problem-solving, memory, attention, and other thinking skills. No studying required. No grades. And absolutely no expectation that you'll be good at everything.

Afterward, we'll review your results and explain what they mean in language that doesn't require a psychology degree to understand.

Answers Are Great. Knowing What to Do With Them Is Even Better.

Testing isn't just about getting a diagnosis. It's about figuring out what actually helps.

Your results can guide an individualized treatment plan, and at Murray Center, we offer several ways to take the next step:

  • Medication Management:  Explore whether AD/HD medication may be appropriate, with guidance from our prescribing professionals.

  • Six-Session Executive Functioning Workshop:  Learn practical strategies for organization, time management, planning, task initiation, and follow-through. Because "just use a planner" has clearly solved everything.

  • Individual Therapy:  Address emotional regulation, frustration, motivation, and other challenges that can accompany AD/HD.

Already have a therapist or another provider? Great! You don't have to receive treatment with us. Your evaluation findings can help guide care wherever you choose.

What If It Isn't AD/HD?
Then we've still learned something important.
Anxiety, learning difficulties, sleep problems, and other factors can sometimes look like AD/HD. Our goal isn't to find a diagnosis just for the sake of finding one. It's to understand what's happening and identify useful next steps.
