Emily Lemke, LMSW

Emily is a fully licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan. She received her Masters of Social Work with a school specialization from Loyola University Chicago, and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Wayne State University. Emily's experience and scope of practice is broad. She has worked as a bilingual-therapist in community mental health with high-risk populations in both Denver and Chicago, providing individual, family, and group therapy. Since returning to Michigan in 2018, Emily has worked as a therapist in a private group-practice and has provided clinical supervision to limited licensed social workers. Emily takes a client-centered, relational approach, and utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), aspects of dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and other evidenced-based practices. She is skilled in working with individuals across the lifespan, though is particularly passionate about supporting adolescents as they navigate the many challenges this developmental stage can bring. She remains non-judgemental, curious and compassionate in her approach and believes in the importance of having a sense of humor. With her education and early career experiences based in school-social work, she is well versed in the navigation and collaboration with schools and academic settings, and providing related parental support. Emily accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield.
