Worry Shmurray Workshop for Kids

Worries Shmurries!

Because Anxiety Happens, But We Don't Let It Run the Show!

A fun, interactive, science-backed anxiety management program designed by the Murray Center for Behavioral Wellness for children ages 7–13.

Meet Sunny the Sloth! He's easygoing, takes his time, and knows a thing or two about keeping his cool. While our brains sometimes race ahead with a thousand "What ifs?", Sunny reminds us that we can slow down, figure out what's really happening, and decide what to do next.

That's where Worry Shmurray! comes in.

Our engaging, kid-friendly program helps children understand anxiety, recognize their worries, and develop practical skills to manage anxious thoughts and feelings. Because the goal isn't to never feel anxious. It's to know what to do when anxiety shows up uninvited.

And with Sunny leading the way, kids discover that slowing down doesn't mean backing down. Sometimes it means taking a breath, thinking things through, and finding the courage to do something hard.

What Will Kids Learn?

Through interactive games, hands-on activities, detective work, and plenty of humor, children will learn how to:

  • Understand anxiety: Discover why their brains sometimes sound the alarm when there's no real danger.

  • Recognize worry thoughts: Catch those sneaky "What if?" thoughts before they turn into a full-blown worry spiral.

  • Understand their body's signals: Learn why anxiety can cause butterflies, racing hearts, stomachaches, and other uncomfortable sensations.

  • Challenge anxious thinking: Become worry detectives who investigate anxious predictions instead of automatically believing them.

  • Build coping skills: Practice breathing, grounding, problem-solving, and other evidence-based strategies for managing anxiety.

  • Face fears with confidence: Learn how taking small, brave steps can help worries become more manageable over time.

We'll Bring Worry Shmurray to Your School!

Want to help students build emotional resilience, manage everyday worries, and develop skills they'll use long after the workshop ends?

We can bring Worry Shmurray directly to your school! Our program can be adapted for school-based groups and educational workshops, giving students practical anxiety-management tools in a supportive, engaging environment.

And because learning doesn't have to stop when the workshop ends, Sunny the Sloth also stars in our complimentary Worry Shmurray educational cartoons on our Instagram! These fun, relatable cartoons help reinforce important concepts and give children, parents, and educators simple ways to keep practicing their skills.

Little Worriers. Big Skills. More Confidence.

We can't promise kids will never worry again. That's not how brains work. But with a little help from Sunny, kids can learn to slow down, understand what their anxiety is telling them, and find the confidence to tackle challenges instead of avoiding them.

Because being brave doesn't mean you aren't scared. It means learning that you can handle being scared.

Worry Shmurray! Because anxiety happens, but we don't let it run the show.
