Friend Shifts Happen
Social skills for the rollercoaster ride of 4th–6th grade friendships.
(Endorsed by parents. Tolerated by kids. Surprisingly useful for both.)

One minute they’re BFFs, the next they’re not speaking because someone sat in the wrong seat at lunch. Welcome to the wild world of upper elementary friendships—where emotions run high, alliances shift daily, and group texts can spark global-level drama.
Friend Shifts Happen is a fun, skills-based group that helps kids learn how to handle friendship curveballs withoutneeding a PhD in emotional decoding. We give them real tools to build better relationships—and yes, we sneak in the learning between laughs and games.
Here’s what your child will walk away with (besides a snack wrapper and a new catchphrase):
-
How to spot the signs of a good friend (hint: it’s not just who shares their Takis).
-
How to be a good friend, even when things get weird.
-
What to say (and not say) when feelings get hurt or things go sideways.
-
How to handle friendship drama without turning into a drama magnet.
-
Confidence, empathy, and the ability to recover from “I’m-not-invited-to-the-sleepover” level meltdowns.
Through silly games, real talk, and just enough humor to keep it cool, this group helps kids build stronger connections—and the kind of social confidence that sticks around longer than this week’s favorite Minecraft YouTuber.
Because friendship doesn’t come with a manual—but it helps to have a group like this.
