All of our clinicians hold the highest license for their degree and level of training. Murray Center is the elite clinic for therapy and psychiatry services, neuropsychological testing, IQ testing, and testing for appropriate school placements and special education accommodations. We are highly referred to and respected throughout Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan. We take our reputation seriously and select our providers carefully.
Dr. Sarah Murray
Dr. Murray is the center’s director and founder of the Murray Center for Behavioral Wellness. She is a fully licensed clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist in the state of Michigan. She obtained her Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois. She has extensive experience in conducting evaluations for both children and adults for such issues as dyslexia, AD/HD, learning differences, developmental delays, and emotional/behavioral impairments. She is highly experienced in and provides evaluations for “high stakes” testing such as ACT, SAT, and LSAT. Dr. Murray also specializes in evidenced-based treatment for both children and adults, such as Cognitive-Behavioral and ACT therapy, for a range of issues. Dr. Murray completed her APA-approved internship at a residential facility for children and adolescents in the Chicago area and her postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at a private practice in Georgia. Before beginning her full-time private practice career, she was on the medical staff at Beaumont Children’s Hospital as well as Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Murray has conducted and published research involving psychogenic seizures in children. She has presented at both hospitals and schools on such topics as proven treatment and assessment approaches, anxiety, and school-based accommodations for learning differences and AD/HD. Dr. Murray is an active member of the American Psychological Association, the Division for Child and Family Policy and Practice, and the Association of Psychological Science. Ben is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). He obtained his master’s degree in Nursing Science from Wayne State University, with a specialty focus on psychiatric-mental health. He completed his psychiatric training at numerous outpatient private practices and clinics across metro Detroit. Ben specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, OCD, and AD/HD. Ben accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Dr. Sarah Rimack
Dr. Rimack is a limited licensed psychologist in the state of Michigan*. She obtained her Psy.D. from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University | Southern California within the Child and Adolescent track. Dr. Rimack tailors treatment plans for each patient, using evidenced-based treatment modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Dr. Rimack specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and their families. She completed her APA-approved internship in Connecticut where she conducted therapy with children and adolescents in addition to conducting developmental assessments of young children. Her pre-doctoral experience includes training in the treatment of pediatric anxiety and OCD from UCLA’s Semel Institute, and training in a range of childhood issues at one of the largest community-based clinics in Southern California. In addition, she has experience collaborating with schools to support a child’s success in the classroom and has previously functioned as a school-based therapist. Dr. Rimack collaborates closely with caregivers to best address behavioral and emotional concerns; she guides parents to reduce conflict at home and increase family harmony. Dr. Rimack holds the philosophy that, with the right guidance and support, children have a natural propensity for personal growth and resilience. Dr. Katy Combs
Dr. Combs is Murray Center’s Clinical Director, overseeing our clinical staff. As a first time patient with the Murray Center, she helps you determine best treatment and/or testing goals and the Murray Center service and treatment provider that is right for you. Dr. Combs is a fully licensed psychologist in the state of Michigan. She obtained her Ph.D. from Wayne State University. Dr. Combs has fifteen years of experience as a school psychologist and has expertise in the area of testing. Dr. Combs completed her internship in an intensive crisis residential center, providing therapy to children and adults, including family therapy. She has experience in the hospital setting completing neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessments as well as child and adolescent therapy. Dr. Combs provides both treatment and assessment services at the Murray Center, with special focus in AD/HD, learning disabilities, and anxiety. Dr. Combs is Murray Center’s early childhood specialist, helping parents to increase their children’s positive behaviors and improve the quality of time spent at home as a family. Dr. Combs uses this expertise, consulting with our treatment team regarding Murray Center early childhood patients when necessary. Dr. Combs accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Dr. Mary Brennan
Dr. Brennan is the Murray Center’s director of clinical training. Dr. Brennan supervises our interns and ensures that our patients are receiving the highest quality of care. She is a fully licensed psychologist in the state of Michigan. Dr. Brennan utilizes her vast experience as a prior school psychologist to serve as Murray Center’s Educational Liaison, attending school conferences and assisting with educational support services when needed. She obtained her Ph.D. from Wayne State University. She currently serves as adjunct faculty member at Wayne State University. She has previously worked as a school psychologist supporting at-risk students within the special education system and also has experience in an in-patient setting for children and adolescents. Dr. Brennan completed her internship at a counseling center in Farmington, Michigan providing therapy to children and adults, including family and couples treatment. In addition to her treatment expertise, she has a wide range of evaluation experience in the areas of dyslexia and AD/HD. Dr. Brennan provides both treatment and assessment services at the Murray Center. She specializes in the treatment of depression and anxiety and focuses her evaluation services in the areas of AD/HD and dyslexia. Dr. Brennan accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Leah Little, LMSW, CAADC is a fully licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan and a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor. She obtained her MSW from the University of Michigan, with a concentration in mental health and interpersonal practice. Her graduate training was conducted at Michigan Medicine, in the Psychiatric Emergency Services. During this internship, she obtained extensive training in various evidence-based treatments, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Later in her career, while in government service with the U.S. Veteran’s Health Administration, Leah was trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET). Leah has over a decade of work experience providing individual, family, and group therapy to adolescents and adults in community non-profit, hospital, and private practice settings. Her areas of treatment focus include life transitions, grief/loss, relationship or family issues, general stress, depression, anxiety, ADHD, addiction, or coping with past trauma. Leah strives to create a safe, welcoming atmosphere where you can openly share thoughts and feelings, talk about your dreams and goals, be unashamed to cry, and maybe even laugh a little. Dr. Lauren Myers
Dr. Myers is a fully licensed psychologist in the state of Michigan. She serves as our intake coordinator, assisting Dr. Combs in meeting with you as a new patient to determine the service and provider that is right for you. Dr. Myers works hard to ensure that you feel comfortable and informed during your first visit with us. She obtained her Psy.D. from the University of Indianapolis and a certificate in neuropsychology from Ball State University. Dr. Myers completed her internship at Jane Pauley Community Health Centers in Anderson, Indiana providing therapy and evaluation services to children and adults. She has experience providing therapy services in a medical setting as well as completing neuropsychological and diagnostic assessments. She also has experience completing psychoeducational assessments and therapy services in the school system. Dr. Myers provides both therapy and assessment services at the Murray Center for a wide range of issues. Dr. Myers accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Dr. Erica Iceberg
Dr. Iceberg is a fully licensed psychologist in the state of Michigan. She obtained her Psy.D. from Azusa Pacific University in California. Dr. Iceberg completed her internship at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign, Illinois providing therapy and assessment services in an outpatient setting to children and adolescents. She also conducted evidenced-based parent coaching, addressing behavioral issues in children. She has provided therapy services to children and adolescents in a wide range of settings including outpatient, school, and intensive day treatment programs. She also has experience conducting neuropsychological, psychoeducational, and diagnostic evaluations. Dr. Iceberg provides both therapy and assessment services at the Murray Center and specializes in working with children and adolescents. She heads the Murray Center’s teenage health and wellness program, promoting confidence, social success, and healthy assertiveness training to our adolescent patients. Jaylen completed her master’s degree in counseling psychology at Wayne State University*. Jaylen received her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University with a major in psychology and a minor in health promotion. Jaylen has over 6 years of working with children, adolescents, and their families in various settings among those providing applied behavior analysis (ABA) with children who have autism. Jaylen completed her clinical internships at Wayne State University’s Mental Health and Wellness Clinic and Children’s Hospital of Michigan providing therapeutic services to children and their families both through telehealth and in-person. Jaylen is extremely passionate about early intervention and exploration of emotions, as well as taking a person-center, humanitarian approach to help families using evidenced-based care. Autumn Templeton is the director of the Murray Center Academy (MCA), which provides educational therapy and tutoring services. Autumn has a bachelor’s degree in linguistics from Oakland University as well as certification in ESL (English as a second language). Prior to coming to the Murray Center, Autumn spent 13 years at both the educator and administrator levels focusing on literacy remediation. Autumn is Orton-Gillingham certified. She has extensive experience working with neurodiverse children and teens, helping them improve their academic and executive functioning skills. Autumn specializes in students with dyslexia and AD/HD. Autumn works as an individual tutor at the Murray Center. In addition, as director of the MCA, Autumn meets with each family for a free consultation to decide which program is best for your student and to set goals and objectives. She then carefully selects which MCA tutor is the right fit for your student. With Autumn’s long history in the field and her unique experience working with children with learning differences/neurodiversity, she brings invaluable expertise to the Murray Center Academy!
Kim Whelan is the Murray Center director of finances. Kim has a diverse background in office administration and management. As a long-time employee of Beaumont Hospital, Kim has extensive experience in billing, scheduling, and customer relations. Kim will help you to understand and assist with your insurance questions. In her spare time, Kim enjoys knitting, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her friends and family.
Meet Emily Cunningham
Emily is the Murray Center administrative coordinator. Emily will help you to schedule your appointments and assist with your questions and concerns. Emily is happy to accommodate your scheduling needs, with weekend and evening hours available. Emily strives to make your time with us pleasant and hassle-free. In her spare time, Emily enjoys gardening and also creates amazing art.

Lena Grim is the Murray Center benefits specialist. She verifies benefits for all of our Blue Cross Blue Shield patients so you are fully prepared for your visit with us. Lena is available to answer all of your insurance questions and concerns.

Alex completed her master’s degree in counseling psychology at Wayne State University*. Alex received her bachelor’s degree from Oakland University with a major in integrative studies and a minor in psychology. Alex has over 5 years of experience working with children with autism and other developmental disabilities in an early intensive behavior intervention treatment facility using the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). Alex has worked in individual and group therapy, facilitating groups centered on teaching social skills to children and adolescents with autism. Alex also has experience working in a hospital setting with youth who had been admitted for various mental health issues. Alex completed part of her internship at Wayne State University’s Mental Health and Wellness Clinic providing telehealth services to adults and families with young children. Alex is extremely passionate about early intervention and providing person-centered, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and their families. Alex accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Phillip Niklowicz graduated with his master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology* and earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology. He completed his practicum at Common Ground focusing on crisis intervention. Phillip’s previous work experience includes working with children and adolescents in a residential behavioral intervention facility, working with adults and children with a variety of disorders in a TBI (traumatic brain injury) center, hospital administration and recipient rights at The Stone Crest Center and Doctor’s Hospital of Michigan and as a clinical therapist for adults with a variety of disorders in a long term AFC setting. Phillip promotes an empathic and person-centered approach with a humanistic perspective. Phillip accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Robert completed his master’s degree at Wayne State University’s Counseling Psychology program*. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Michigan State University, and worked as a behavioral technician at Havenwyck Hospital for the last 3 years. Robert works well with adolescents, particularly those struggling with depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Robert is involved in suicide research at Wayne State, and works primarily from an existential and ACT perspective when providing counseling services. Robert accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield.
